Mission.
the Department houses a consultation facility and a treatment facility with two
multi-place recompression chambers and a Sechrist 32' monoplace chamber.
Transcultaneous oximetry studies are performed on site to measure and map tissue
oxygenation to assess suitability for hyperbaric treatment.
The purpose of hyperbaric oxygenation is to:
- Â Treat patients with Decompression Sickness and/or
Cerebral Arterial Gas Embolism (CAGE) either diver related or iatrogenic Â
- Utilise the physiological effects of improved oxygenation to
hypoxic tissues
